Unlocking the secret to sustained family involvement
The biggest wish of most family historians is to see our relatives engage with our research, and for it to survive and thrive for generations to come. Almost without exception, our work is trapped in outdated technology and paper files. Ultimately, too many stories are locked up with the living or lost with the departed.
Simon and his team at WeAre.xyz have developed an online platform which gives our past a future by turning our research into a living family archive. In this session, Simon pinpoints the mechanisms and emotional incentives required to achieve this holy grail of genealogy.
Simon has a track record of technology innovation, having built a mobile app platform that is now part of Facebook and used by over 1bn people worldwide. Outside of work, Simon sits on the committee of the Shropshire Family History Society in England, is a keen naturalist, cyclist and lover of any kind of history. He lives with his wife and two teenage children in West London, England.
