Opening Times
The Centre is open to all (members and non-members of the society alike). Entry is free of charge although donations are very welcome.
Currently the Centre is open
- Monday to Friday
- Sessions can be booked in the morning (10:00 – 12:30) and afternoon (13:30 – 16:00)
During 2026 we will be closed on Bank Holidays and for an extended period at Christmas.

Late Summer Bank Holiday
Monday 31 August
Christmas and New Year
Monday 21 December to Friday 1 January 2027 inclusive
The Centre will be open on Heritage Hub “Saturday Event” days and there is no need to book. See details in the calendar of events on the Home Page
Pleas note that only guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed in the GFHS Family History Centre and Gloucestershire Archives Research Room. All dogs are welcome in the Hub’s social space but please keep them on their lead and under control
Booking
We are operating a booking system and find that visits can be much more productive if we know you are coming and what you want to do. Please use this form to reserve a place and give us at least 3 days notice of your proposed visit. You can also email us at booking@gfhs.org.uk if you have further queries.
