Gift aid your membership subscription!
What is Gift Aid and How Does it Work?
If you are a UK tax payer, you can gift aid your membership subscription.
Gift Aid allows UK charities to claim back the basic rate tax already paid on donations/subscriptions by the donor. This means we can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 of your membership subscription donated, boosting the value of your subscription/donation by a quarter.
For example: a membership subscription of £10 would boost GFHS’s funds by £2.50 annually, and it will not cost you any extra.
To make a Gift Aid declaration to the GFHS for the first time:
Online: Tick the Gift Aid box on the New Membership Application form when joining the Society.
By email or post: Download the Gift Aid Declaration here and fill in your details. Mark for the attention of the Treasurer. Our postal and email address is on the form.
Please notify us by post or email if you:
• Want to cancel the declaration;
• Change your name or home address;
• No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
