Alan will explore the importance of maps for research, a history of their scope and range and their development since the 18th century.
Alan has been involved in lecturing, speaking and writing on family history for many years and has written two books in the Society of Genealogists My Ancestor was … series. He is President of the Herts FHS, and former Editor of their journal.
