The Talk

In this talk, Nick explores the origins behind Who do you think you are, with stories and case studies that reveal how the research was undertaken, the challenges faced along the way, and the wider impact that the show has had on the way a mainstream audience perceives genealogy

The Speaker

Dr Nick Barratt is an author, historian and broadcaster best known for his work on the BBC series Who Do You Think You Are. He’s currently the Director of Learner and Discovery Services at the Open University, a teaching fellow at the University of Dundee and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, as well as the owner of Sticks Research Agency founded in 2007. Nick’s most recent publication, The Restless Kings, explores the dysfunctional family of Henry II.
