December’s Saturday event at the Heritage Hub will focus on Gloucestershire’s industrial heritage and feature two historical talks, a document display, stands from local heritage organisations, and free refreshments throughout the day!

13:15 Fifty Years of Researching the Stroud Valley

Mike Fenton will cover his extensive research into Stroud Valley GWR.

14:30 The Carriage Building

Stephen Limbrick will look into the history of Gloucester Carriage Building.

Also on the day:

  • Document display of records on ‘forgotten heritage’ within collections held at Gloucestershire Archives
  • Heritage stands from GSIA, Stanway Water Mill, Stroudwater Textile Trust, Mid Glos Engine Preservation Society, the Lightmoor Press, Jet Age Museum and Fielding and Platt Group.
  • Industry-related diorama presented by Alan Drewitt of the Gloucestershire Transport History 
  • Free refreshments throughout the day
