In 1939, Cheltenham’s public transport was sold to the Red and White Bus Company. This is the starting point for this study of the years that followed through to 1980, when the fleet became part of the Bristol Omnibus Company. A summary of subsequent changes through to acquisition by Stagecoach is also included, plus a fleet list of vehicles placed in service by the Cheltenham District Traction Co. after 1939.
