Stanton: Village Cross
Where-Monuments-1

Crowd sourcing information on a set of 1930s photographs
These three pictures all seem to be of the same memorial on a village green. It is presumably a World War One memorial.
Can you tell us:
This is one of several sets of pictures in our Where do you think this is? series. This is not a quiz; at the moment we do not know the answers!
You can see more background on the project through the link in the menu. Please email us at where@gfhs.org.uk or use the comments section at the bottom of the page.

Village cross at Stanton. Now has two additional windows in the roof
Hi David
Can you source a current photograph?
Regards
Paul
There is a photo on the web, but I don’t know if it’s current. https://www.beautifulenglandphotos.uk/stanton-gloucestershire/village-cross-and-cross-cottage-stanton/
The Cross is not a WW1 monument but a historic one. Details are on the listed building entry

Many thanks to the anonymous commenter who said
“No offense but do you know what Google Streetview is?”
Yes indeed we do and the link for this set of photos is
https://www.google.com/maps/@52.0066199,-1.9011991,3a,90y,355.39h,86.86t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sT_qYYdkvdJvh8G3AFtLFjA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
But many of the photos we have are not going to show up as they are not part of a street that will have been covered by Streetview.
