Whilst the fictional Miss Havisham never got over rejection, the reality was much brighter for thousands of jilted women. Rather than mope in fading wedding finery, they hired lawyers and sued for breach of promise. When men behaved badly many found that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Denise has a degree in history and has written three full length history books based on her original research in primary sources. She have also contributed articles on a range of topics to number of publications.
