Bring along your research
Members are invited to do a short presentation on some aspect of their particular research, say an interesting memorial or family photo, etc., or some “brick wall” they cannot break through (we are expecting at least one of the latter).
A projector and laptop will be available if you have it on a CD or USB stick, or bring it along, as it is, and just hand it around – a photo, of course, not a memorial!
If a few members would be willing to co-operate it should make and interesting and entertaining evening.
These are exciting times and give great opportunities to all our members to embark on new research avenues, as well as alternative opportunities in volunteering.
The committee need to hear you views.
Carisbrooke Road is on the No 10 bus route from both Gloucester & Cheltenham, and Stroud members can pick up the No 10 at the Cross Hands Shurdington.

Derrick Hall on Painted Wall Advertisements in Gloucester.
Derrick is a member of G.F.H.S and gave his presentation to a meeting at Gloucester earlier this year. It comprises a selection of photographs of painted wall advertisements to be, or were to be, found in Gloucester (and one or two other places) which Derrick has collected. He has very kindly agreed to come to Bream to show us the images. As he says it is not particularly family history but it is certainly the closely allied social history.
Steve Cooper will present a slide show of the most interesting memorials in the churchyard of St Andrew’s church at Awre.
