Committee Positions

Dear All
 At the AGM in September 2018, 5 members of the committee will not be standing for re-election. This email is appealing for people to come forward and stand for election. We feel that (especially with the move to the Heritage Hub) new people, with fresh ideas are needed to serve on the committee.
The Executive Committee should consist of 12 members. All members of the committee are elected, at each AGM, for a term of I year. At the present time 6 members of the committee have served more than 6 years.
To maintain the future of the GFHS the following posts must be filled.
Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, and Membership Secretary
Other positions that need filling, to help with the day to day running of the Society and Family History Centre, are: –
Minute Secretary
Events Manager
Programme and Speaker Manager
Publicity Manager
Volunteer coordinator
Volunteer Training
FHC Stationery Manager
Visitor Numbers Recording
Post and Mail Order
Book Shop
Librarian
Plus many other jobs that are equally important for running the society  which can be undertaken by volunteers.
If we do not get new members onto the committee the GFHS could fold. If you feel that you can help, please contact either the Chairman or Secretary and we can discuss the posts in more detail
