I would like to introduce myself as the new Editor for the GFHS Journal. I am very excited about taking on this position, and look forward to receiving your contributions to the Journal.
In my professional career I am an Executive Editor in scientific, technical and medical publishing, and I am pleased to bring some of these skills to the Society Journal. I have been researching my own family history for about 10 years, with ancestors based mainly in Gloucestershire and Yorkshire.
Please send your letters, news items, readers’ queries and articles for the Journal via email (email@example.com
) by the following dates: 15 April 2016 (Summer issue), 12 August 2016 (Autumn issue), 14 October 2016 (Winter issue) and 13 January 2017 (Spring issue). Content can also be sent to the Family History Centre (Clarence Row, Alvin Street, Gloucester, GL1 3AH). I welcome any feedback on the Journal (likes and dislikes), and this can also be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to receiving your contributions and thoughts.
Members are able to ask for searches on several of the Society’s data sets including our transcriptions. We have now made our Gloucestershire Monumental Inscriptions available for searching. Use the link in the Members’ Area menu above.
